3 Steps to the Perfect Holiday Outfit

shopping7 years ago

Happy Monday! With Thanksgiving creeping up on us and holiday party invitations sneaking into our mailboxes, there’s no more denying it: the holiday season is OFFICIALLY upon us!!! I, for one, am super excited — I have a couple trips planned before the end of the year, starting in LA this week, and I think I speak for ALL of us when I say that we could definitely use a break from election fatigue, to spend some well-earned time with our families and get reminded that even in the most trying times there still is a lot of love out here in the world

SO. With the parties comes one of the most frequently asked questions of all time, “What do I wear?” — but have no fear guys, cause today I’m gonna show you how to put the perfect holiday outfit together in just three steps!

1) Start with Statement Outerwear

Your coat or jacket is the last thing you put on before leaving the house… but it’s the first thing to think of when you’re putting your outfit together. After all, it’s the first thing everyone sees whenever you show up! My floral blazer is a statement piece on it’s own, and I love how the darker colors make it easy for me to bring one of my favorite trends into the cold weather months.

2) Layer Textured Accents

The fall and winter seasons are all about textures when it comes to fabrics: think leather finishes, luxurious suede and velvet dresses, reflective satin accents and so much more. Since you have more layers to work with during the colder months, it’s time to have a little fun with your holiday look! My outfit of the day is pairing black (vegan) leather pants with a hint of peek-a-boo lace — balancing dainty feminine details with a rougher, street-chic wardrobe staple.

3) Top it off with Accessories that WOW

This is the time of the year to REALLY let your accessories shine, guys, both literally and figuratively! Add some glitz to your shoes and jewelry… or even try a new hairdo that’ll let you add a fun hair accent. I kept my accessories pretty neutral in this look — but let’s be honest, when doesn’t Chanel speak for itself?
