How to Create a Perfectly Flawless, Matte Black Cat Eye

I’m not a makeup expert by any means, but if there’s one thing I’ve practiced to perfection, it’s my signature cat eye winged liner! Today, I’m sharing my favorite brand and products that I use to create this classic look.

For most darker-skinned girls like me, I’ve found that most eyeliners have a greyish undertone or sheer finish in its formula… which can look unflattering, or not even stand out well enough on my skin! I’ve done a LOT of trial and error for the perfect eyeliner… and I finally found it in Armani Beauty‘s Eyes To Kill product line.

To start, I use the Eyes To Kill Designer Eyeliner to trace the outer shape of my cat eye – following the shape of lid fold and lower lash line for guidance. This ensures that I have the same shape on both sides for symmetry. This eyeliner is black as night!!! The BEST liquid liner I’ve ever tried, and the brush is very fine for the right amount of precision.

After tracing my cat eye’s shape, I use the same liquid liner to fill everything in, focusing on the outer corner for a dramatic effect!

Then we move into the Eyes To Kill Eye Pencil. While I also love the liquid liner on its own, going over my cat eye with the eye pencil mattifies the line, so that it’s super dark without reflecting any light! On it’s own, most liquid liners tend to be slightly reflective… so the eye pencil removes any and any shine.

Any finally, a double application of Eyes To Kill Classic Mascara gives my lashes a boost of length and volume!

Et voilà, the perfect cat eye winged liner, and it’s all in a quick trip to Nordstrom‘s Beauty department! Don’t forget: Nordstrom offers flexible ways to shop at your comfort level: you can buy in-store, or buy online with free shipping and returns, or pick-up!
