Heading out east? Here’s your guide to summer in the Hamptons!

Summer is around the corner, and I’m already mentally preparing for all the long weekends out East for work and play — so I figured I’d bring you guys along with my prep process! Here’s a comprehensive Hamptons summer guide, featuring must-pack wardrobe items, and my recommendation of where to eat and stay depending on the type of getaway you’re planning.

Starting with wardrobe : casual and easy to wear clothes are a must. With the humidity and heat, the key to keeping it cute is breathable fabrics and effortless pieces. Some things just scream Hamptons: like matching sets, linen, and sandals. You’ll want to bring something elegant and flirty to wear for a nice dinner and fireside drinks on a deck or beach, but don’t skew to too revealing, as you may want to keep certain restaurants’ dress codes in mind.

what to pack for a hamptons weekend

are you hoping to party, or to relax… or both? check out some of my favorite properties

where to stay in the hamptons

gurney’s montauk

if you’re looking for the quintessential relaxing stay out in montauk, gurney’s is a great place to check out. they offer workshops, daily classes, and a bathhouse to tap into your wellness journey while enjoying beautiful views of the water.

ruschmeyer’s

also located in montauk but not quiet on the coast is ruschmeyer’s. this is a great property to check out if you’re looking for a more hip, less frilly place to spend your hamptons vacay at. it’s a more intimate property with an onsite restaurant and bar known for its late night parties that create a campsite community vibe with hotel patrons and visitors alike.

topping rose house

not heading all the way east to montauk? the topping rose house in bridgehampton is a lowkey, luxurious and intimate place to stay with only 22 rooms, featuring 6 stunning suites. when temperatures get high, take a dip or work on your tan poolside.

An honorable Montauk mention for your next Hamptons stay: the Marram is another stunning, oceanfront property where you can prioritize wellness and relaxation.

where to eat in the hamptons

cowfish

delicious food, live music, and views of the bay make cowfish a must for late lunch or early dinner. hang outside by the water with a signature cocktail ahead of your reservation and then enjoy a delicious meal from their specialties menu, featuring seafood and steak.

duryea’s

duryea’s is an iconic staple in montauk and is renowned for fresh seafood and stunning sunsets over the water that you can watch from the deck. try the lobster salad, the seafood tower for groups… and definitely don’t skip out on dessert!

lobster roll

another hamptons icon – lobster roll (aka LUNCH), has two locations in southhampton and amagansett on the way out to montauk. it’s more of a casual dining spot than the other options mentioned above, but is equally beloved by locals and visitors alike. make sure to check out their hours before making the trip – they’re closed on tuesdays and wednesdays!
