A Saturday Well-Spent

Aside from running this website you’re reading right now, I’m a 9 to 5 working lady during the week… which means that, just like any other person, I LIVE for the weekend. Enjoying an extra glass of wine in the evenings, waking up on my own time and running personal errands that I’ve been putting off all week is basically what a standard weekend looks like in my book, but lately I’ve been trying to challenge myself to do things a little differently. There are so many things that I love about exploring each pocket of the city I live in (they’re each like their own little world!), and to me, there’s no better time to do that than on a Saturday morning when I’m waking up with little to nothing else to do! So what does an Atlanta weekend morning well-spent look like?

7:00 AM

I know. When I tell people that I’m awake at or before 7:00AM even on a Saturday morning, they look at me like I’m an alien. But it’s my body’s internal clock doing what it does, and for some reason I feel a lot more well-rested waking up at 7 on a weekend morning than I do waking up at the same time on a weekday.

…it might have to do with my innate aversion of going to work, but that’s for another time, ha!

9:00 AM

Somewhere between me waking up and heading out the door, the leisurely process of cleaning up my room after a hectic week and getting ready for the day takes place.

Because it’s the weekend, creating a little ambiance never hurts and I especially love burning this candle on a Saturday morning while I’m getting ready for the day… it smells super fresh and floral, which is how everybody should start their day, in my opinion.

11:00 AM

Grabbing a bite on the go is always an option, but on a weekend morning there’s no rush, so I love a good sit-down brunch sess… whether it’s on my own or with a friend! In case you missed it, I highlighted some of my favorite brunch spots in Atlanta that are known for their good food as well as a great Instagram photo opportunity… so you definitely wanna have that bookmarked for the next time you’re heading out on a Sunday morning!

Popping in and out of shops is pretty much a staple life activity for me  – I’m always looking for new sources of inspiration for content creation and making connections with local stores around the city to develop new partnership opportunities! One of my favorite stores to explore lately is The Merchant Co., which has several locations around Atlanta and lots of great home decor and travel souvenir that make for the perfect gift.

2:00 PM

Because I work a full-time job, most of the prep work that goes into content creation happens on weekends, so I spend most of my Saturdays location scouting for photo opps before my sister and I head out for our weekly Sunday shoot sessions. One of the things about shooting around Atlanta is that is not as easily accessible as NYC… and nowhere near as photogenic as Southern California, so I’m always looking for ways to get creative. One of the things ATL does have though is amazing wall art peppered throughout the city, so it’s always fun to stumble across something new!

4:00 PM

Before heading home, I drove by Jackson Street Bridge, one of the best spots in the city to capture the Atlanta skyline. Stopping to snap a quick picture? Don’t mind if I do!

And with that, it’s time to head home for a quick nap and get ready for the evening 🙂 Catch you later!
