Top 5 NYC Restaurants with Heated Outdoor Dining

Don’t let the cold weather stop you; our favorite spots in NYC definitely heating things up with their incredible outdoor dining options!

I’m sure eating outdoors on a cold winter night is not what many of us had in mind for this winter. But due to the unbelievably innovative restaurant owners and workers, New Yorkers are still able to enjoy outdoor dining during one of the coldest months of the year. Since so many restaurants pulled out all the stops and wowed us with their safe and warm dining, I thought it was time for me to share a guide on some of these great spaces! Below is a mini bucket list of restaurants that you can try out and support the New York City restaurant community — don’t forget to bundle up before you go!

1. the smith

East Village • American

The Smith is a popular brunch spot that you won’t want to miss out on trying. Before entering, I suggest stopping and taking some pics by their aesthetically pleasing white brick wall! This restaurant is always popping and the perfect place to go brunching with friends or family with a great environment for larger gatherings. The brunch menu is filled with so many creative and delicious foods. If you are a breakfast girl like me, you should try out their waffles and pancakes. If you are a brunch/lunch type of eater, you can’t go wrong with their big, juicy burgers. IG: @thesmithrestaurant

2. pinto garden

West Village • Thai

This is one of those restaurants that sticks out like a sore thumb, but in the best way possible. Immediately your eyes will be drawn to Pinto Garden’s beautiful vibrant and colorful flowers that consume the restaurant’s outdoor dining experience. The seasonal, locally sourced ingredients make for a fresh and flavorful meal your tastebuds will be thanking you for. IG: @pinto_nyc

3. shoo shoo nolita

Lower Manhattan • Mediterranean

Unlike ordinary Mediterranean restaurants, Shoo Shoo Nolita incorporates a unique Israeli twist on the meals and recipes. Even on a cold night, they are prepared with heaters to keep you warm and comfortable while enjoying their delicious meals. If you are looking to try their famous brunch meal, ShookShookka, it is an appetizing dish featuring tahini, olives and zaatar. Enjoy! IG: @shooshoonolita

4. bar primi

East Village • Italian

Although Bar Primi doesn’t take reservations, the wait is never too long to get into the popular restaurant. If you are looking for an easy-going, approachable, relaxed dinner place, this for sure is it. For all of those Italian food lovers out there I would try out the eggplant bruschetta, seafood antipasta, and the fiore de carciofi. Everyone loves a classic Italian meal! 😊 IG: @barprimi

5. lola taverna

West Village • Greek

The beautiful, floral set-up Lola Taverna provides for its outdoor heated seating is like no other. You have to pinch yourself just to remember that you aren’t currently in Greece on a tropical island! This restaurant differs from others because it isn’t the typical Greek restaurant menu. The portions are known to be large, so go on an empty stomach! IG: @lolataverna
