Farmers Market

Even when I’m not particularly looking for anything, Farmer’s Market shopping is one of my favorite daytime activities that make me feel like I’m doing something to give back to local small businesses. Between the fresh produce, delicious street food, colorful blooms and occasional buskers, there’s always something to see. Leisurely walking around the outdoor markets is such a welcome change of pace from being in an office all day, and you never know what you’ll find — like these fresh tulips I picked up last weekend, or this spicy confit I bought last summer.

Having spent a large chunk of my life growing up in Europe, I always miss the open air shopping experience, and compared to most U.S. cities I’ve visited in the past (LA, NYC, New Orleans), Atlanta is seriously lacking. That being said, here’s a quick round-up of my top 5 favorite Farmers’ Markets in and around the Atlanta area I’ll just have to make do with until the next time I booked an out-of-state trip:

Morningside Farmers Market

The Heritage Sandy Springs Farmers Market

Green Market for Piedmont Park

Dekalb Farmers Market

Marietta Square Farmers Market
