A Few Of My Favorite Things

coco's style9 years ago

Hope you managed to stay warm and well away from the blizzard and snow this past weekend! I was supposed to be up in D.C. on Saturday and Sunday to visit a friend, but my flight ended up getting cancelled and I was stuck in Atlanta for the weekend, once again Guess it beats the alternative of being trapped miles away from home, unable to get into work this morning… or wait, does it?I’ve rebooked my trip for next month and I’ve never been before, so if you have any D.C. travel tips, favorite restaurants, shopping suggestions, etc. — please let me know in the comments below!!!

Today’s outfit is basically a mix of my current favorite things: I bought the leather jacket over the weekend on a whim, and coincidentally sold my old one on Depop the exact same day (don’t you love it when little coincidences like that happen?). I was looking for a new leather jacket for the longest time because I wanted to trade out my round-necked jacket for one with lapels. This one from Topshop comes with a gorgeous faux fur collar, and I was sold on it immediately! I threw it over a Reformation bodysuit that I’ve been reaching for a lot lately. I love the deep-V neckline, and it wears perfectly with a pair of high-waisted pants…

…which takes us right into my new Levi’s jeans with the funny name: the Wedgie Fit! The Wedgie embodies the heritage of the iconic 505 jean‘s classic straight, slim fit, a button fly that channels the aesthetic of the 501 jean, and a raw hem that makes for the perfect, unique finish. My denim collection is expansive, but it definitely feels so much more complete now that I have the perfect pair of All-American Levi’s?

Topping everything off are the gorgeous Chanel slingback shoes that are straight off the Fall 2015 Ready-To-Wear Collection. My favorite thing about these shoes is that they can be dressed up with a formal dress, or dressed down with jeans… and the heel is the perfect height for someone like me, who tends to shy away from stiletto heels as often as possible. I had actually been looking for the Chanel slingback for MONTHS, to the point where I was this close to pulling the trigger on buying an overpriced pair off eBay. Luckily, I happened to stumble across a lady trying them on at Saks a couple weeks ago… I must have circled her like five times, until I managed to flag down a store assistant who helped find a pair for my very own self. Aaaand there’s this week’s lesson people: Never give up!?
