Euro summer starts now… Olá de Lisboa!🇵🇹
I just got back from a week in Portugal, where I went with some of my best friends from college — and it was truly the best getaway ever! I shared a little bit about this on Instagram, but Portugal was the first country my mother got posted to during her career as a diplomat and she always told me the best stories about her time there: the food, the culture, the weather… so it felt really special to finally have the opportunity to experience Portugal for myself, and it absolutely did not disappoint ❤️
We stayed in Cascais — a small beach town approx. 30 minutes from the city center, and I truly think it’s the best way to do Lisbon. Cascais is super walkable, and there are countless restaurant options with good food (we didn’t have even ONE dining experience that was less than excellent) and there’s plenty of opportunities to spend time by the water — you can book surfing lessons, a private chartered yacht day, or just a lovely afternoon on the beach under the sun. And of course you can pop into Lisbon for the day, if you’re craving some city action!
