If you’re wearing a face mask out and about – which I hope you are – you may be wondering how to make your makeup work this summer. It’s hot under there, you don’t want to get your mask dirty, and your face is literally 50% hidden!
1. reconsider your base
Heavy foundation stains your mask, and unless it’s a reusable one, you’ll be forced to swap out your disposable masks on the daily. Instead of a full face of foundation, try a lighter tinted moisturizer or use concealer in targeted spots. I love the Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer because it dries down to a matte finish with 24hr wear.
2. it’s all about the eyes
You guys know I’ve never been about heavy eye makeup, but with a mask on, now is the time to let your eyes do the talking! I’ve been gravitating towards orange and terracotta shades, for a look that highlights and shimmers while still staying close enough to my skin tone. I mixed shades from the Dior 5 Couleurs and Charlotte Tilbury Copper Charge palettes… and then added a super black cat-eye using Armani Beauty liquid liner with super voluminous mascara from Dior.
3. skip the lips
We’re giving lip products a rest this summer y’all! When I’m out, the only time I’m not wearing a mask is when I’m dining… so it’s OK to just opt for a simple lip moisturizer and leave them bare so they don’t leave a stain on your mask or cause your mask to stick to your face.
And there you have it – a super simple mask-friendly makeup you can wear this summer and social distance in style, while keeping yourself and others safe.
