Old Becomes New Again, with the Iconic Ferragamo F-Heel

When it comes to fashion, it’s no secret that there is nothing new under the sun: our favorite styles are constantly revisited and updated for the modern day consumer.

The latest fashion re-imagination for the Spring/Summer ’21 season comes from the house of Salvatore Ferragamo, in the form of their iconic F-heel. First created in 1947 by Ferragamo himself, the F-heel was made with a wooden wedge for the heel and nylon fishing lines for the straps, due to leather being in short supply during World War II.  Might I argue that even if they’re uncomfortable, they are probably the chicest wedges I’ve ever seen? 😍 It’s no surprise that they were due for a re-emergence on the fashion circuit, and the brand’s current creative director Paul Andrew has done just that — introducing the 2021 Ferragamo F-heel!

This time around, the shoes are available in a number of sandal and slingback silhouettes, and are made with softer leathers in neutral and pastel colors for a feminine spin on the shoe. Of course what remains is the signature sculptured f-shaped heel, that actually make them really comfortable for every day wear and walks around the city… while still providing the added height and feminine touch that we loved the shoes for in the first place.

I’ve compiled some of my favorite F-heel shoes below, including the black pair that I’m wearing in the photos! What do you think of these shoes, will you be checking them out this season? xx
