As an African girl who grew up in Europe, I’ll be honest: I haven’t always been convinced by the legitimacy of American football. But after the roller-coaster of emotions that was Atlanta’s 2017 Super Bowl play AND going to the Super Bowl last year, I think I’m a believer and I have the football jersey to prove it!
I may not be an avid sports follower, but my favorite thing about catching a game with my friends is the feeling of community. For 60 minutes, you’re cheering for the same team along with everyone else in the room… and the snacks and drinks don’t hurt either 😉 I always come away from a sports game having made a new friend or two!
Now for the classic question of what to wear. If you’re a little stuck on how to put together a fun look while rooting for your team this season, here’s an easy one: rock a football jersey!

There are so many fun and fashion-forward ways to style a football jersey — I wore mine with a mini skirt, blazer and combat boots (3 things I’ve had on heavy rotation in my wardrobe this year), but you can also opt for your favorite pair of jeans with a leather jacket too.
