Patchwork

It may not be 80° anymore, but one of my favorite Fall looks is the combination of shorts and sweaters, to maintain a balanced, yet interesting look… so I’ll keep at it for as long as the weather allows?

The streetstyle circuit is going crazy for patchwork right now, having started with jeans last year, and expanding to skirts and dresses this season. My favorite way to wear patchwork is with suede fabrics, because it gives the heavier fabric a much lighter, wearable look — and getting real suede and leather at this price is an absolute no-brainer.

The best way to make this crazy pattern (well… I guess the point of patchwork is that it isn’t ACTUALLY a pattern, is it?) work is to tone it down with simple basics, to keep the patchwork the focal point of the outfit. A quick accessory like this silk scarf ties it all together, and you’re ready to go!
