It's Science: You Need Some Red in Your Wardrobe

Kicking off the week with a fun, red monochrome look that I wore out over the weekend. According to the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology and my friends over at Who What Wear (i.e. my go-to for EVERYTHING street-style-related), red is the color that’ll make heads turn! So, the next time that you need an extra boost of confidence or looking for something that’ll wow — pull our your favorite red dress and let your clothes do the talking!

My striped top from last year’s Madewell x Sézane collection is still a favorite of mine — even though it’s sold out, I’ve linked a couple alternatives below! Wearing it with this red leather skirt that I recently picked up from Topshop makes for a monochrome look that isn’t overkill, and my sneakers complete a stars-and-stripes look that isn’t kitschy or drawing attention away from the focus of this outfit: some red hot color!

I tend to stay away from bright colors, like… but I love how this came together, making a statement that’s not TOO loud! What do you guys think about rocking monochrome outfits in strong colors like?
