Starting Strong

health9 years ago

It’s that time of the year when anyone and everyone (myself included!) is making their new year’s resolutions, and coming up with whatever their version of the latest “new year, new me” iteration may be. The beginning of the year is always as good a time as any to start afresh, but the most important thing to figure out is how to turn our positive resolutions into daily habits. I’ll admit it, as a habitual resolution-breaker, it can be really hard to stay on track when you don’t see the immediate results of the hard work you’re putting in… and for some reason it’s so easy for us to be harder on our own selves than we are on other people!

Whatever your new year’s resolution is this year, and however you feel about how well you did with your resolutions last here, here’s something that we all need to remember:

“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.”

In place of your regular resolutions, let’s promise ourselves to remember that little quote instead and be a little kinder to ourselves this year when we don’t see the immediate results that we want. Because it’s only by showing ourselves self-love that we can continue feel driven to put in a little more work everyday… and in the end, it’ll all be worth it.
