How To Style Kick Flare Jeans in the Winter

When it comes to denim, I’m usually super picky about the ones I buy because there are so many things that I look for. For starters, I’m 5’9″, so finding jeans with a long enough inseam are ALWAYS a must. I can’t stand it when my pants hit that super awkward mid-calf/ankle part that looks flattering on no one! Another thing of course, is fit. I try to avoid going too stretchy or too stiff, to make sure that I have a pair of jeans that are not only flattering… I also wanna make sure that they’ll last for a really long time. Last but not least, I check out the details. I always love denim with thoughtfully-placed distressing or any other details that make them stand out like embroidery, studs and/or raw hems.
Given my pickiness when it comes to denim, it’s no surprise that it took me a while to get into the kick flare fit. Don’t know what kick flare jeans are? Think of the classic bootcut, but cropped. At first thought, it sounds like a super awkward silhouette to wear… but when you find the perfect pair, like I did from Madewell, you’ll realize why you can’t go without them!
