Making the Case for Wearing Suits & Workwear in 2021

Do we still need to shop for suits and workwear in today’s work-from-home, post-quarantine world?

As New York City begins to open back up, I’ve been looking through my workwear and tailored pieces very differently. How are we ever going to get comfortable wearing them after being in sweatpants and loungewear for the past 12 months? And with working from home becoming “the new normal” — will we ever have the need to shop suits and workwear ever again?

If you’re wondering what to do with your favorite blazers, pencil skirts and tailored pants in 2021 — here are some tips on how to re-work your workwear outside the traditional office setting, so you’re getting the most out of your favorite suits!

My suit is from Theory, and the fit is super slimming and so comfortable! Definitely a top recommendation, but there are always tons of other tailored pieces at different prices points if you’re looking.

how to style your suits & workwear

When most people think of suit sets, I know our minds go straight to professional business day looks… but that’s not the only way to wear them! A blazer can be worn in many ways, like dressing up your favorite pair of jeans or even your beloved sweats. Tailored pants can be paired with a cute, casual tee for a day out in the city. And if you really want to wear both pieces together like I did, you can always dress the look down with a baseball cap and sneakers. All the details of my look are linked below, for you to check out and if you’re looking for more workwear styling tips, check out 8 ways to style your favorite blazer! xx
