From Atlanta to New York City: Why I Moved

life5 years ago

S

So many changes this year! You may have already read about my decision to transition out of my corporate job to full-time blogging… and this week, I announced on Instagram that I’m moving from Atlanta to New York City!

First things first: Atlanta will always be home to me. My family is based there, so I’ll be back quite often… also because I’m leaving a LOT of my clothes there, and will be swapping out my wardrobe on a seasonal basis 😅 NYC apartments are tiny!

I remember myself at this time about 10 years ago… I was still in school, not entirely sure what I wanted to do with my career. One thing I did know though, was that I LOVED reading ManRepeller, Refinery 29 and Who What Wear every day, and dreamed of moving to New York City to become a fashion writer for one of them. It’s crazy to think that was ten years ago, but today I’m finally making the move, and while I may not be writing for a huge publication, my move is on my own terms, and I couldn’t have imagined anything better!

Now that I’m in NYC, I’m excited to be a lot closer to the brands and PR agencies that I work with on a regular basis and take those relationships offline… to ditch my car and be more active on my feet (and at the gym!)… and start prioritizing my social life and personal relationships again.

What do you guys wanna see on my blog, Instagram and YouTube now? It feels so exciting to have the time to get a lot more creative now, and I can’t wait for everything that this year has in store💕
