How to Style Tailored Pleated Pants Like a Fashion Expert

If you’ve given your Pinterest or Instagram a scroll recently, you’ve probably already seen these trousers styled in different ways — they’re always a Fall favorite; an understated complement to this season’s sweaters, boots and trench coats! Think preppy, but with a personal edgier twist. Perhaps you’re still a little hesitant about whether you make the trend work for you, so today, I’m partnering with my favorite luxury fashion retailer, Saks Fifth Avenue, to share how to style pleated pants… as well as some trouser shopping tips that will work for you!

It’s no secret that when it comes to good tailored details, The Row can’t be beat — but when I’m shopping for pleated pants, I always look for looser fits (balance out your baggy pants with a fitted top!), quality fabric that’ll hold a crease so your pants stays crisp all day, and a generous inseam so you can rock your pleated pants with heels or flats!

I styled my pants with a cropped cable-knit sweater, and my loafers that have been one of my favorite wardrobe staples ever since I got them! Finished the look with a basket bag — remember it from earlier this summer? — et voilà, I’m ready for a day on the Upper East Side!
