Currently Loving: AAu

Discovering new brands that I love is one thing… but when they’re owned by a newly-found friend, it’s another thing entirely 🙂

I met Asiyami Gold last month shortly after Atlanta Magazine named both of us to their local fashion influencers on Instagram round-up, and we hit it off immediately. I mean, another Atlanta-based Nigerian fashion lover like myself, with a great eye for the perfect Instagram shot? What’s not to love?

 I hung out with her last week, and she gave me a preview of her AAu summer capsule collection and I totally fell in love! Tops, skirts and dresses made with the popular Nigerian ankara fabric… even though I’m not always one to wear a bright patterned piece, AAu reminded me of just how well fun patterns work, especially when they’re done right.
