Runway to Real Life: Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini SS21

I

It’s hot, hot, HOT outside — and today I’m sharing summery look from the Italian fashion house of Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, inspired by NYC’s 90º weather ☀️

Last weekend, we headed uptown to Central Park to spend some time outdoors, play with my new film camera (more on that soon!) and shoot this beautiful look, straight off the runway from Philosophy’s Spring/Summer ’21 collection. It’s always such a pinch-me moment to have the pleasure of partnering with high-end fashion brands and re-imagining runway looks for every day wear — and this one was definitely one of those moments! It’s one of those cottagecore-inspired looks that would look just as at home in the middle of a bustling flower field, as it does in the busy streets of New York City, so we had a lot of fun shooting this one.

philosophy’s spring/summer ’21 collection is inspired by the simple pleasures of the outdoors: painting, garden and enjoying the open air.

We shot these photos around the archway of the Bethesda Terrace Arcade, which features these historic colorful, patterned tiled walls and ceilings that reminded me of my travels through Europe and made for the perfect backdrop to this look. I don’t know about you guys, but my wanderlust is definitely stirring and I can’t wait get back on the road to travel… hopefully soon!
