Finally home in Atlanta after a whirlwind of week! I had the most amazing time in Europe over the last eight days… but today, we’re diving into all the details about my first time in Italy with St. Regis Rome for the 2019 Sentebale ISPS Handa Polo Cup.
When it comes to polo as a sport, I’ll be honest — I have no clue what the rules of the game are… but I will say that I love what polo’s all about! Getting dressed up to enjoy a gorgeous sunny day in Italy over champagne and small bites with an IRL view of THE Duke of Sussex? Yes please! The only thing that made it even better was the fact that the game was to support Prince’s Harry’s Sentebale charity, which was founded to support the mental health and well-being of children and young people affected by HIV and extreme poverty in the Southern African countries of Lesotho and Botswana.
Following the polo match, we gathered back at the St. Regis Rome for a no-cameras Midnight Supper, where Prince Harry spoke on the importance of Sentebale’s work over an amazing 4-course dinner. Midnight Supper is a St. Regis tradition, started by Caroline Astor — the mother of the founder of the founder of St. Regis — who was known to throw intimate dinner and dancing soirees for her closest friends. I’m still pinching myself over the fact that I can actually say that I’ve had dinner with Prince Harry… but I’m even more grateful to the St. Regis team for inviting me to be part of such an important cause and amazing weekend!
