How To Wear Daytime Metallics
coco's style8 years ago
Glitzy finishes, eye-catching glitter and and flashy metallics are usually saved for our favorite evening and late night outfits, but when it comes to daytime wear, metallics can definitely work too! By making your favorite gilded piece the (literal) highlight of your outfit and toning down on everything else, you can create a look that draws attention to your desired focal point without being too over-the-top. Most of us are familiar with metallic accessories and may even own a glitzy bag or pair of shoes — but for today’s look, we’re taking it to the next level with this rose gold skirt.
I can’t stop picking up skirts from Topshop lately (here are some of my recent Topshop skirt looks in red leather and embroidered denim), but with this latest rose gold addition to my collection, I’m going to try and hit a pause and give my wallet a break. I’ve always loved how Topshop pushes the envelope on wardrobe staples, re-creating even the most simple pieces and silhouettes like the mini skirt… and now that they have a store here in Atlanta, I’m always popping in to catch up on the latest trends because Topshop definitely has their finger on the street style pulse.
If you’re following along on Instagram, you probably already saw a preview of this look go live yesterday… it was the perfect Sunday outfit to head out to brunch and last-minute weekend errands before gearing up for another work week! Tonight, I’m flying out for a really fun (and VERY quick) trip, so make sure you’re following along on Snapchat and Instagram to stay tuned.
You guys know I’m not usually the biggest fan of stiletto-style high heels, and these scalloped block-heeled J.Adams sandals that my friends from ZOOSHOO sent me are perfect. Haven’t put them down since I first got them, and they transition from work to weekends seamlessly!
