Quiet Luxury: The Secret Trend That's Hidden in Plain Sight

We all know the hottest releases in fashion tend to be bold, branded and logo-centric pieces. But the latest trend that has the streets talking is… surprisingly quieter than ever.

I’m sure you guys have heard the debunked trope, “millionaires don’t wear expensive brands!” If we’re forced to believe what we read on the Internet, we’d think Jeff Bezos’ suits were from Goodwill and Mark Zuckerberg buys t-shirts from Hanes. But what if I told you those boring, unbranded grey t-shirts that Zuckerberg wears ALL THE TIME are, in fact, $300 a pop? 🤑
Fashion insiders have coined a term for these unassuming wardrobe basics, that come with a surprising price tag: Quiet Luxury. But are these pieces worth the money? Let’s talk about it: high quality, tailored pieces that are made from more sustainable fabrics will never go out of style – and it it makes the splurge worth it when you account for cost per wear, when you’re able to keep a simple t-shirt in your closet for several years, instead of throwing them out after just one season! Some of my favorite fashion houses in the Quiet Luxury category include The Row, Loro Piana, Hermès, Brunello Cucinelli, MaxMara, and Loewe.
Quiet Luxury tends to stay away from synthetic material and logo or monogram prints. The pieces are typically made from materials like cotton, leather, cashmere, merino wool, and silk. But heres the good news: you don’t have to break the bank when you’re shopping them! Here are some high quality investment pieces (some of which are on sale now!), so you can start building your capsule wardrobe full of staples that are ready to wear again and again.
